MISSIONS

PREVENTION

Organising day-to-day accident prevention at the airport and managing safety equipment.

Monitoring building sites (specialist teams) to ensure the protection of people and property.

ACTION

Applying initial fire fighting measures in the first three minutes whilst waiting for the Alpes Maritimes Fire Brigade to intervene. Possibly evacuating the terminal building.
Monitoring the safety perimeter around bomb disposal experts.
Providing emergency medical attention in under 3 minutes for anyone in distress.

THE MEDICAL DEPARTMENT

12 emergency doctors provide a non-stop service from 6 am to midnight. The medical department handles emergencies anywhere on the airport platform.

CRISIS MANAGEMENT

Organising and coordinating crisis plans (safety, security, operations) designed to cope with all situations encountered at an international airport, notably monitoring specialist control posts.

Running associated crisis tools: setting up crisis cells with personnel trained annually and the relevant technical means (telephone switchboard, automatic calling device, etc).

THE PERMANENT SAFETY POST

The Permanent Safety Post is the department's veritable nerve centre. This is where all alarms and intervention requests are handled, and the base from which the entire airport is kept under surveillance 24 hours a day to ensure the safety of people and property.
