Your responsibilities will be as follows: 

The air hostess or steward welcomes passengers on board and seats them. He or she ensures the smooth running of the flight and safety on board, serves and assists travellers, makes sales announcements concerning the sale of tax free products.

A hostess and steward's main function is to ensure safety on board. Before boarding, they very meticulously check the different machines and devices in the cabin. Nothing must escape their attention: interphones, lighting, life jackets, etc., everything must be in perfect working order. During the flight, they encourage passengers to respect safety instructions, present the life saving equipment to them, etc.

Thanks to the care of the hostesses and stewards, the journey must seem pleasant and not at all long to passengers. During the flight, they carry out various tasks: distribution of newspapers, drinks, toys for children. They serve meals, sell tobacco, alcohol and other duty free products. Their commercial duties extend to keeping accounts.

Hostesses and stewards are particularly responsible for ensuring the comfort of elderly or handicapped passengers and young children.

 Working conditions

Irregular working hours and possible jet lag require huge availability. A hostess or steward will fly for 60 to 70 hours per month over 20 days.

 Candidate profile

Aged between 21 and 35 for Air France, between 28 and 30 for the other airlines

Minimum BAC level (if BAC level, secondary school leaving certificate)

1m58 minimum (1m68 minimum for men in certain airlines)

Fluent English (other languages an advantage)

Citizen of the European Union

To have no military service obligations (except for Air France).
