Airport
assistants
It
is sometimes impossible for an airline to have ground
staff at an airport. In such cases, the airline will
call upon the services of an airport assistant. Airport
assistance teams are there to:
-
Park the
aircraft, check passengers in, oversee passenger
boarding and disembarking procedures.
-
Load and
unload luggage and clean the inside of the aircraft
during turnround.
- Offer a
handling service: collect meals, prepare them
and stow them in the trolleys that will be taken
on board the aircraft during turnround, etc.
- Offer a catering
service: prepare and load foodstuffs, manage the
airlines' handling equipment, manage heavy equipment
(trolleys, storage cupboards), crockery, newspapers,
groceries and drinks, put the catering trolleys,
bars and newspapers on board the aircraft, etc.
- Take delivery of and security
check export cargo, put cargo into containers
or onto pallets before handing it over to the
airline
- Take delivery of imported
cargo, take it off pallets and make it available
to transit agents
-
Airport assistance is synonymous with total
and permanent service, impeccable quality
and specific training.
Assistants endeavour to take into consideration
and to satisfy each airline's specific needs by
tailoring their services to each individual client
and respecting their particular standards and
norms.
This implies extreme flexibility in the handling
of passengers and cargo for both commercial and
private aviation and the ability to respond to
all types of demand 24 hours a day.

 |
The airport
also represents the largest vehicle pool in the
region: seven companies cover the whole range
of car-hire services with a fleet of approximately
5000 vehicles including Jaguars and Rolls Royces!
It is also possible to hire a luxury vehicle with
chauffeur.

Cargo companies
The airport
is also the starting point and destination of:
mail, parcels, animals and plants, and merchandise.
Airlines and transit agents deal with such varied
merchandise as cut flowers, high-tech products,
perfumery products from Grasse and satellites
manufactured in Cannes.
In 2002, 15,000 tonnes of cargo were transported
