POLICY PRESENTATION
Reconciling the airport with its environment
is crucial to future local development.
The airport launched an environment policy - a 5-year action
plan - back in 1997. By end 2002, 78% of actions had been completed
or were underway. In order to channel the skills it has acquired
and future efforts towards optimum results, Nice Côte d'Azur
Airport intends to obtain labels for all operational, design
and maintenance activities. An environment management system
is thus currently being set up, based on the ISO 14001 international
reference frame.
The airport must embrace integrated
environmental management in order continuously to increase its
environment-friendliness.
Respecting the environment is
a matter of controlling current sources of pollution whilst
keeping a constant look out for new impacts that may arise.
